Mayonnaise Crusted Baby Back Ribs

Mayonnaise Crusted Baby Back Ribs

Duke’s Mayo Crusted Ribs

The south is the pork barbecue mecca of the world with BBQ rib recipes, techniques and traditions abound. Depending on the region, your ribs could be sweet, tangy or spicy. Everyone has a favorite style, but I think all barbecue enthusiasts will be intrigued by this particular method. It’s one that I had never heard of before and once I learned of it, the curiosity to try it persisted.

So, what’s this interesting method to cooking these ribs?

These ribs are coated with a kicked up mayonnaise before they go into the oven. That’s right mayonnaise, but let’s not forget the kicked up part. Then afterwards, you sear it off on the grill or a large skillet – or in the oven on broil – and it makes one delicious, unforgettable crust. Starting the ribs in the oven makes them ultra-tender, but don’t searing them off is just as important for that mouthwatering crust.

Now, some of y’all may be looking at me weird at this point… but that’s ok. Take a second and look at these rib pictures and tell me you’re not intrigued too.

Seriously – so good, y’all!
