Ah yes, it's time for summer! Bring on the sunny days, the picnic lunches, and a million memories made on beach days. Undoubtedly, visiting the beach all summer long is one of the best parts of this time of the year.

In my opinion, it's best to think ahead and bring something to help you leave that wet sand where it belongs. Luckily, the solution is easy, cost effective, and you probably already have a few containers lying around.

Baby powder is so effective at getting wet, sticky sand off your body because it actually absorbs the moisture so the sand will just fall off of you. How cool is that?
In case you're curious, the way it works scientifically is that baby powder contains anti-caking agents. In the past, companies mainly made baby powder with talc and corn starch. However, in recent years, companies have moved away from using talc in baby powder due to lawsuits over talc that had too-high volumes of asbestos. Now companies use other, safer water-absorbent ingredients like tricalcium phosphate, a supplement form of calcium, and Montmorillonite, a type of clay.
Before you start hauling your kids off the beach next time, just dust a little bit of baby powder over their body. Not only will they be dry and more comfortable on the drive home, but you just prevented a sandy mess all over your car and home!
