Gentle and soothing, yet textured and interesting, this 89 square metre apartment interior offers the ideal space in which to regroup and rejuvenate

Located in Baku, Azerbaijan, the home design was visualised by Kamran Karimov to include a warm and light colour palette for psychologically calming effects. Whilst the overall effect is reposeful, bold moves were made within choices of hue and form, and textured finishes have become key elements. Ribbed wall panels and glass fixtures create a recurring theme throughout each and every room of the modern home, creating comforting cohesivity. See how texture builds a luxe TV wall, interesting bedroom features and a chic bathroom vanity.

Light salmon pink upholstery makes this modern sofa into a unique statement piece. Whilst the unusual colour is a bold choice, the gentle hue is soothing to the eyes and calming to the spirit. Scatter cushions are a playful array of pattern in salmon and white colourways, which link them to both the couch and to a chic white marble small side table.

A mixed pair of nesting coffee tables furnish the gap between the sofa and a stylish TV wall with a bespoke media cabinet.

The sleek TV stand has been designed to fit around the wall shape to maintain the modern linear aesthetic.

Slatted wood panelling and ribbed gypsum texturise the wall above the smooth TV unit to create a seamless luxe look. Two pink tinted cabinet doors follow the textural theme.

The same tight slat wood panels have been used to clad a supporting column between the living room and the entryway to the home. A decorative muxarabi screen filters light into the hallway.

Light wood grain has also been used in the kitchen to create fluid cohesivity around the open plan living space.

A glass vase of pretty blossoms complement the delicate colour scheme from the kitchen counter.

The beautiful gold light fixtures are the Multi-Lite pendants, by designer Louis Weisdorf for Gubi, which features rotating shades to adjust the lamp’s profile and direction.

Decorative vases bring pattern and colour to the dining table.

The tabletop is integrated into the kitchen island to create a streamlined, space saving solution.

Track lights distribute even illumination around each area of the home, and throw spotlights upon main features.

Three recessed track lights beat a dramatic path to a freeform decorative wall mirror at the end of the hallway. Two marble planters flank the focal point.

In the bedroom, a modern platform bed is given a grand floor to ceiling padded headboard feature, trimmed with lustrous gold detail.

A combination of softest grey upholstery and creamy fabric furnishings come together to create a comforting dream-like bedroom scheme.

Hidden LED ribbons illuminate all around the base of the bed to give it a weightless, floating effect. A light grey rug unfurls beneath the bedstead, creating a warm area to pad barefoot around the perimeter.

A marshmallow-like bedroom chair rests at the very edge of the bedroom rug, drawing the eye toward a set of wood framed balcony doors. A small side table teams with the comfy chair to make a relaxed reading nook, or a spot for morning coffee in the breeze.

An elegant sputnik chandelier drops a moment of bold definition over the refined decor scheme. A vase of dried pampas springs up tall to meet it in the vertical plane.

Textured gypsum panels draw focus to each bedside, where rounded drawer units complement the sputnik pendant light’s spherical shades. Designer table lamps add shapely adornments.

Layered bedding builds an alluring cosy nest.

Glass closet doors hark to the ribbed texture theme established in the living room. Closet track lights emit a glow through the obscure glass.

Sheer white voiles softly diffuse the sunlight from the large window.

At the foot of the bed, a small bookcase floats clear of the floor to keep the layout looking clean and spacious. Colourful artwork brings in the uplifting pink accent from the lounge.

In the corner of the bedroom, an alcove has been made into a charming vanity area. A blush vanity stool tucks under the chic white marble makeup table. A backlit vanity mirror creates a golden glow over an oak effect backing panel.

Ribbed stripes texture the adjacent bookcase wall, creating subtle interest within a colourless expanse.

Inside the bathroom, bespoke furniture is flush fitted to make the most of the room’s compact dimensions. A deep bathroom sink rests on an attractive floating vanity unit, which is a custom fit for the gap between the tub and the bathroom entry wall.

A ribbed panel crosses the front of the vanity unit, marking the bathroom with the same texture palette as the rest of the home. A round illuminated vanity mirror echoes the circular sink profile, and features a dainty planter shelf in its glow.

Smooth oak effect panels clad the wet zone around the bathtub. A white shower head, rinser faucet and a matching toiletries shelf contrast cleanly against the darker grain.

The wood and white aesthetic is repeated on the cistern concealment wall.

The apartment floor plan better communicates the size of the bedroom’s walk in closet, which matches the dimensions of the bathroom. We can also see how the balcony area links the bedroom and main living space.
