Feng Shui: decorating with the color of wealth and abundance

Feng Shui: decorating with the color of wealth and abundance

The other day I did a cute little Celebrity Feng Shui round-up on my Instagram Story and it was an absolute hit. I had no idea how much everyone would relate to the home decor of my secret obsession, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I first got into the home & decor of Lisa Vanderpump, we uncovered how the artwork in her home gives a glimpse into her personal relationships. Then I covered Kyle Richards Umansky and her cozy home, especially her dining room decked out in the most gorgeous purple tones.

I was blown away by how many people reached out to me and were wanting to learn more about decorating with the color purple. So, I felt like a post was necessary. Here’s the deal: The color purple in Feng Shui is the color of wealth and abundance. It’s the main color that is used to enhance the Wealth corner of the home. To learn more about Feng Shui and the home corners, read this post or this one.

It is said that Leonardo da Vinci believed meditating in a lavender or purple-colored light improved the experience. It is also said that purple was a favorite color of Cleopatra. I once had a color expert tell me that purple is the best color for brunettes to decorate with, I’ve always loved the color purple. Historically-speaking, purple was the hardest color to make, so only royalty wore purple to show that they were wealthy. So, tap into your wealthy vibes and begin to infuse purple into your home decor.

HOW TO DECORATE WITH PURPLE

The fabulous thing about purple is that it is considered the “beige” of Feng Shui, meaning it is the most versatile color that can be used to enhance almost every area of the home. It’s best use is in the Wealth & Abundance sector and the least best use is in the Travel & Helpful People. Everywhere else, it can be a beneficial color to use where you think you may need a touch of abundance and flow.

  1. Purple is definitely a power color. It is best used by an entrepreneur, CEO or anyone is a powerful position that is looking more recognition. You could enhance your Fame sector with a dose of pretty purple & enhance your reputation.

  2. Purple boosts creativity. You can use purple in the office, child’s room, library or any room where you would like creativity to soar. Especially if that creativity is used to make money, it will be a double blessing on that area. Try placing a purple orchid on your desk where you work, I’ve always used this trick as a way to boost my own creative ruts and it has worked every time.

  3. Purple is the color of divine wisdom. The crown chakra is represented and healed by the color purple, which is the chakra of your connection with the divine and spirituality. This is why purple is a great color to use in a more meditative room or calming corner. If you have a spot where you curl up and real self help books, try tossing a purple pillow or throw.

  4. Amethyst is the purple crystal. And amethyst is the most popular crystal that people decorate with along with Clear Quartz and Selenite. Amethyst is a power crystal because it covers so many healing aspects. You can always use crystals as an effortless way to enhance the energy in your home for good Feng Shui.

Hot tip: Purple is the color of money. Wearing purple clothing or ties is great for anyone in the sales industry. Including bankers, real estate agents, film producers, creative agencies or anyone who deals with money. When it comes to creating new opportunities for business, it is wise to use purple in a personal and wealth-enhancing way.
