Barn houses have seen a resurgence lately, becoming a new type of stylish and modern. The old-school rustic vibe of their pitched roofs, the wood-clad exteriors and the use of natural and pure materials throughout is complemented by a variety of modern-day features and the result is a very charming type of home. This is a holiday home designed and built by studios Joan Heaton Architects and Silver Maple Construction. Its located in Weybridge. Vermont and its style is eclectic. It definitely has a modern vibe but at the same time its a barn house. Everything inside and out is simplified and some of the key defining elements have been customized. For instance, the house has large sliding door that disappears into the wall, exposing the rear section to the beautiful outdoor surroundings. The entryway on the other hand features a pivoting door.

This small barn house is meant to serve as a family getaway spot where everyone gets to be close to nature and to enjoy its beauty. As a result, the architects looked for ways to maximize the views and to highlight the connection between the house and its natural surroundings. This unique combination of styles suits it perfectly as it maintains a timeless appeal while also making it feel very welcoming and cozy.

This barn house has a strong rustic vibe and theres good reason for that. This was a project completed by studios Yellowstone Traditions in collaboration with Swaback Partners. Its very interesting though the fact that this is a barn which was dismantled and then relocated and reconstructed. It was all put back together using the original materials. Additions and customizations were made and that resulted in a very nice blend of rustic and traditional details with just a hint of modern simplicity.

The structure is located in Montana and has a small footprint which it makes up for with a large porch. Inside theres a kitchen and living room area on the ground floor and a loft bedroom upstairs. Theres also a bathroom with an outdoor shower and all sorts of other interesting features including a stone-clad fireplace. Outside the porch overlooks the private ponds all filled with trout, turning this barn into a charming fishing cabin.

The house was designed by studio Yankee Barn Homes and is located on the Marthas Vineyard island in Massachusetts. It has 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms in total in addition to all the common areas. The interior design and layout are customized to embrace the concepts of family living. The house is also designed to make guests feel very welcome.

In addition to its inviting interior design and charming exterior, this coastal barn house also features a series of large openings and glazed surfaces which maximize all the views and ensure a close connection to the outdoor areas. Underneath the classic barn-like shell, the house is a very charming and cozy space with a very fluid layout. The private section is composed of two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and private entrances which are situated upstairs. The common areas are positioned on the lower level where they have easy access to the porch and the surrounding outdoor areas. Stone and wood and the main materials that define this project. This design wasnt always the initial plan. Originally, the idea was to create a traditional metal barn with a classic red exterior and was meant to house farm equipment.
