Farmhouse

Compared to the other styles mentioned here, farmhouse is more casual and simple, with fewer decorative elements and not as many curved and soft lines as French country design for example.

If you want it to be more towards the classic farmhouse style use beige, cream and other subtle earthy tones. However, if you want a more modern vibe go with whites and greys instead.

How to build a farmhouse table
If there’s one style that thrives on anything handmade it would be the farmhouse style. Its aesthetic and DIY projects go hand in hand, especially when it comes to furniture. The farmhouse table in particular is a fairly iconic piece and not at all a difficult thing to build.
To build a farmhouse table from scratch you need a fair amount of wood and, if you want to replicate this beautiful design with the chevron-patterned top, you’re going to need a few wood planks as well.
The first step, at with any project, is to prep all the material and to take all the measurements. You can make the table as big or as small as you want and you can customize its height as well.
The next step is to plan the pattern on the top and to cut all the wood planks into sections. Then you glue them all onto a piece of plywood and you start focusing on the frame.
Building the legs is a bit tricky given this farmhouse-inspired design. Once these are made you connect them with a galvanized metal pipe and this basically gives you the base of the table. Attach the top to the base and the table is pretty much done.
All that’s left to do is stain the wood. A dark gray stain would look lovely, especially with a bit of the natural wood color showing through.
