Jon Pousette-Dart is best known as an American Classic and Folk Rock songwriter, musician, and performing artist. Growing up in Suffern, NY with a household of artists, including his father, grandfather, and sister, he separated himself by picking up a guitar at the age of 10 and mapping out a life in music before he ever attended a little league game. Since then, it’s been a long and well-traveled road in the world of music.

Bees Deluxe, the British/American blues band from Boston, bring their unique take on Acid Blues to Cady’s Tavern

GARY BACKSTROM Singer/guitarist Gary Backstrom has been a staple of the northeast music scene for nearly a quarter-century. Gary has been called “One of the most underrated, fluid and melodic players in the North East.

ABOUT PAUL SIMON:

Paul Simon is undoubtedly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. After his initial success with Simon and Garfunkel, he emerged in the ’70s as a solo artist with such hits as “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” “Still Crazy After All These Years,” and “50 Ways To Lose Your Lover”. Ever-evolving musically, Simon had great success in the ’80s with his South African influenced “Graceland” album that featured the hits “You Can Call Me Al” and “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.” The 1990s brought the Latin influenced “Rhythm of the Saints” and “Songs from The Capeman” that features doo-wop, rock ‘n’ roll, and Puerto Rican rhythms. Simon continues to record and perform today.

North Sea Gas is a folk band from Scotland who have now been performing their blend of poignant and rousing songs and high-energy instrumentals for 40 years. With a combination of fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bodhran and bouzouki, complementing strong three-part vocal harmonies and a keen sense of humor, an entertaining evening is always guaranteed! This tour sees the U.S. CD release of “A Long Road: Celebrating Over 40 Years” showcasing four decades of a band’s life, its music, its memories, and its members. One of their previous albums, “The Fire and the Passion of Scotland,” was “Album of the Year” at Celtic Radio in the U.S., winning first place in the “Jigs and Reels” category as well for the set of tunes on the album. “Twin Stars: Diamond Variations for Dae’Anna” is the centerpiece of the evening program. This complex chamber work is a cry for racial justice and a searing artistic response to the killing of Philando Castile. Castile was fatally shot by a police officer in 2016 during a traffic stop while driving with his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her four-year-old daughter, Dae’Anna. A Town Hall dialogue will follow the live concert. Featured artists: Becky Bass, Shura Baryshnikov, Melvin Chen, MusicWorks Collective, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Albert Rudolph Lee, Jay Breen and Victoria L. Awkward.

The Eastern States Exposition’s annual fair, The Big E celebrating all six New England states returns to West Springfield, MA from September 16th through October 2nd, 2022.
